The official footpath crossing is more dangerous than this . A totally petty attack on walkers and cyclists whose only motivation is to access beautiful countryside without using a car . Shameful .

Guisborough lad living and working in Dubai. We have 86km of safe cycle routes out here. It about time the council realised that there are other places, other than Redcar, that needs so help and support. Is 6km to much to ask for.

I have contacted RC council highways and so far got a negative response, due to lack of funds. Investigating ways of making a formal request, and involving Sustrans. The main issues for the Railway link are the landowners - there is a 200 metre section of the old railway that has no access rights. Matbe something will happen this time

I used to use to old railway line track from Nunthorpes to Guisborough, crossing at the farm crossing at Morton Grange however this has now been fenced off. I notice the farmer is still allowed to use this but not the public. I suspect the farmer at Morton was instrumental in getting this done as they don`t like people using the public right of way that goes past them.

I rode this route on my bike daily and it is lethal if the drains/potholes don't get you the vehicles will.... So many near misses and punctures! Some safety area needs to be provided and maintained!!

We certainly need a safe route to guisbrough which does not involve riding with traffic @70mph!

How utterly absurd to invest in a cycle-to-work scheme and then close off the only safe cycle route to work.

From guisborough originally and long overdue cycle route is needed the old railway line would be ideal

With a cycle route which is safe it opens the option to cycle to Middlesbrough which could encourage more people to cycle to work.

I ride to work in thornaby... Scary sometimes. Drivers not awake and school runs all the way. The path down from nunthorpe to dixons bank is amnightmare on a road bike and the coulby route involves too much stopping and starting, crossing roads. Maybe tarmac the path from pinchinthorpe to the nunthorpe bypass???

I have a husband and son that regular are out on there bicycles and to know that they are safe whilst out riding is paramount to me. To have a route through to guisborough would be very beneficial to them and to many that at the moment are having to go on main roads which are very busy and dangerous.

Why have they shut the access from Pinchinthorpe to Nunthorpe at the railway they say do not cross the railway but half a mile away you still have to cross over the line.

It's ridiculous that there is currently no provision for cyclists on this route. This is one of many petitions I've signed. Is anyone actually listening?

Come on network rail
All the money you have wasted on fences over the past year could have been put towards something useful and safe like a bridge or automated crossing

In a UK where everyone and his Dog owns a Car, where a Lot of Families have Two, Three or more Cars, the need to reduce Traffic Congestion and Pollution has never been greater. More Cycle paths are necessary to compensate for the lack of an Environmental friendly Transport system. The greater numbers of people using Bicycles means a rise in the General Standards of Health. Everyone profits from this, and Motorists can save money and Nerves!!! Only the money grabbing Treasury will lose out!!! Less Taxes!!!!!

#74 Cycle fiasco.

There is a foot path around the fields to another crossing without the £1000 fines attached. It's right on the bend and probably more dangerous to cross, adds about 1/4 of a mile to the route. It's a foot path so you shouldn't really be riding.

We need more cycling lanes for safe travel by cyclists-people concerned with keeping fit and reducing our health bill. People concerned with reducing our carbon emissions. Time to prioritise and encourage and nurture these heros of our planet!
