Charity begins at home, stop sending all this money to wealthy countries and corrupt regimes.
As for the Prime Ministers stating that Charity increases our standing in the World, what a joke that is, with us already being Governed by the EU.
As a side issue, we have a drainage Brook running behind our house, which was becoming clogged up with weeds and people starting to dispose of garden clippings to add to the problem. I got in touch with the Environment Agency who stated that they were only responsible for Rivers, not drainage ditches. Told to pass it on to the Council, who said nothing to do with them, get in touch with the E.Agency. About sums it up really, nobody is charge of the madhouse!
Last year the Brook was cleared, but I do not no who was responsible? God?

I think that is absolutely preposterous that the UK is spending on overseas aid, especially to countries like India, when it cannot maintain it's own flood defences, roads, railways etc. Stop overseas aid now until this country can improve its wellbeing.

It's about time we put our own problems first. Once work is underway and is going to be sorted in the long term future, we can go back to helping others..................

If these floods were anywhere else in the world, our government would be sending aid before anyone else, I don't think the conservative or labour likes their own people much, Charity begins at home

IWe have been saying for years the money should be spent in this country first Improving hospitals. Paying more to Nurses and Doctors to keep them on NHS Building more houses and oap homes. Now we need it for flood defence too. Stop sending money abroad until we are the Great Britain again that we used to be.

Charity begins at home, when we are secure then we can help others our politicians are only concerned in their future not the country. If the world takes president that is what they support if it UK then that is the priority. Perfect example at home is Somerset fairly interested but as soon as the Thames area is affected all services are put into place, so double standard.

Cameron should not be sending money abroad, I did not vote for this action. He should concentrate on getting this country back on its feet and stop supporting tin pot schemes whereby the monies conveniently get siphoned off elsewhere.

This country now is in dire straights we must recognise this , our poor people need help from our own country , who else will help us , as a nation we are forced to be extremely generous abroad probably to gain favours ? well when can we draw those favours in ?? .

It's about time we started looking after our own and stopped sending all this money abroad and when this weather eventually subsides I hope the government and environmental agencies start working in harmony to take some preventative action to stop this ever happening again to this degree!!

While retaining the funds from aid abroad, perhaps some of the cash could be spent on waders or wellingtons, for the Army personnel, who were laying sand bags,in boots! Maybe the idiots who gave that order, should be made to do the same.
