I am disgusted with this government giving aid to countries who are obviously rich, or they would not be able to afford a space programme ie india china and others adverts suggest chidren have to walk ten miles a day to get water. why don't they move nearer to the water , and cut down on germs by boiling the water. common sense?

A compromise might be postpone the next batch of awards or put back all awards by 90 days and use that cash flow for those unable to get flood insurance - especially where planning permission was given in known flood plains

11 Billion is spent every year in providing relief for disasters, helping disadvantaged communitioes, improving infrastructure and other aid overseas. Surely this should include those areas in Britain which have experienced similar difficulties. To deny access to the ringfenced aid programme is discrimination against our own people. Note Mr Cameron - there is an election coming - posditive action not measly words is needed.

Our victims of flooding need the money wasted on foreign aid.

It has been heartbreaking for all families involved with the flooding of their homes.

Why should we give money away to other country`s most of whom hate us anyway while people are loseing homes and money here .HELP OUR OWN PEOPLE FIRST AND I DON`T MEAN ASYLUM SEAKERS AND ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS.As the Tory party has now lost the next election I expect the labour idiots to give even more of our money away to their corrupt friends abroad while denying people in this country a decent living .

As overseas aid is British taxpayer-funded money, it ought to be used exclusively here in the UK. Heaven knows there are plenty of worthy causes needing funding here at home. China and India can afford to look after their poor - but choose to ignore proper housing, sanitation and education for the poorest of their people, whilst the middle classes grow exponentially. It is only right that they address this anomaly using their money - not ours. African-directed aid simply goes into the coffers of the leaders and feeds rampant corrupion. For the many millions of aid poured into these countries, poor Africans are still verypoor; African leaders are very rich; nothing has changed.

We must help our own people first, the Overseas Aid Budget is a ministerial vanity project.

I perfectly agree with you . All foreigin aid should be stopped immediately and spent in this country rather than support despot dictators like Mugabe who is doing very nicely thanks to idiots like Cameron who wants to spend even more .I have been a Conservative supporter since I could vote 46 years ago but never again as all Cameron thinks about is protecting the Banks , Foreign Aid and the bone idle.

I'm infavor of overseas aid, however 11 billion is too muuch. I think 2 billion should be used at home annually to repair our flood defences, hospitals and road repairs

I agree entirely with this petition. When natural disasters have struck other parts of the world we have mobilised aid. Any help being offered here is not being well publicised. Why is the publicity priced in Euros when we have not requested payments from the EU fund.

I feel very angry that the appears to be more concerned with looking good by flittering our money away, when people like my son and his wife work very hard yet still cannot afford to repay their mortgage or overdraft. Ignoring the layabouts, I am sure that most people work hard to pay their bills, but the continual cost of living rises cause constant stress to everyone. To give billions to countries that can afford space travel etc is an outrage. Why I wonder is our Prime minister so afraid to cut the payments to them..

charity begins at home.David Cameron showed up because Prince Charles showed up.Further to that it is no good saying the previous government spent less than the present government.Grow up David. we donot what to know what the previous did.You are in the seat so prove what you can do
and if the MPs would not squander the tax payers monies there would enough for projects such as flood defence, homeless and NHS

I HAVE ALWAYS BELIEVED  THAT WE SHOULD STOP THIS AS THESE COUNTRIES ARE STILL SPENDING VAST AMOUNTS ON AIR CRAFT AND ROCKETS

Help our people in real need by reducing the spent on those countries which have resources of their own which they can deploy, if they see fit.All the time we are dishing funds out to them we make it too easy for them to avoid shouldering their own responsibilities.

The Govt says it is wrong to take money from the Overseas Aid. Why I ask, it has gone up a rediculous 30% in the last year from £8,000,000 billion to £11,000,000 whilst every other Govt Dept has been cut - its insane !!
All I ask is, freeze it not replace it and just use two ot three billion for our own Flood infrastructure, is that much to ask ?
