David Cameron's arrogance knows no bounds.. If he wants to be elected again he's going the wrong way about it, I'm disgusted with all the politicians ..

..Cut down drastically on overseas aid , lets help our own people in flood hit areas . Sort out our own disaster before all else . These are the thoughts of all the people I have spoken to .

I am fully in favour of the domestic use of available financial resources, given the constrained period Britain is going through, and that some countries who receive aid funds are most definitely not in need of it, times have moved India, China can afford space programmes and nuclear programmes for bombs. Many other countries receiving aid are using the funds either directly or as a subsidy to the purchase of armaments with which to wage wars against the needed for whom the funds were originally
intended

ALL overseas aid diverted to UK to give relief to victims and put all infrastructure in place across the country to ensure this does not happen again. There are ample funds to cover all disaster contingences and what's left over annually given to hospices, air ambulances, help for heroes and other deserving UK causes. CHARITY BEGINS AT HOME. also WILL ENSURE VOTES FOR cAMERON BECAUSE HE REALLY NEEDS HELP TO SAVE THE NEXT ELECTION AND RESCUE US FROM A FURTHER TERM OF lABOUR

The people of the West country in particular have been flooded for 6-8 weeks now they need help from every quarter, not only now but for years to come to overcme there difficulties, in particular the rural industries, as a lot of farmers have lost many years of work in building up their bussinesses.

This is a must, in this crisis

The Government would serve the Country at
this moment in time much better if they put the HS2 project on hold and used the BILLIONS of pounds alocated for flood defences all around Great Britain. What good is a high speed rail for a very selective few people while many hundreds of thousands more are suffering these floods.

Funny how the PM has shown his face now his rich mates are being flooded along the Thames.

i think all the £11 billion should be kept to this country for flood defences as this may be now an oncoming thing each year, after all charity begins at home

Highly commendable

i do think that the money needed should come out of the foreign aid budget as to much is given already, only to be wasted.charity begins at home.

Once again this government shows how out of touch they are with the people. The money sent abroad to other countries, borders on the obscene, when you consider the hardship the flood victims are experiencing, not to mention the pensioners. 31000 dying for the want of warmth. What is happening to our country?

lets look after our own people not overseas, as the money goes into somebody's back pocket. why don't you ask the people of UK what they want this money to do to are are you scared.

Just hope the petition is heeded, most unlikely I'm sad to say.

This is just basic common sense. We shouldn't have to have a petition about something so obvious! We are a compassionate country but right now we MUST put our own people first and stop wasting tax-payers' money on corrupt and unworthy projects overseas.

Yes use all of the money that is sent overseas to other countries some of them say openly that they don't want OUR Money. Also this Government who are the management for this Great Britain should shelve the HS2 project until all of these persistant flooding problems are solved. The flooding will continue forever. We all know that the HS2 Rail Link is for only a small amount of people when this floodimg is effecting many hundreds of thousands of people all over Great Britain right now and will do in the future.

Totally agree with this petition. Can't imagine how much money will be needed after this. Suspending a proportion of aid for one year would enable so much to be done. Peoples lives are in ruins with no end in sight at present --- they need hope without restriction. ESPECIALLY on the Somerset levels.

we need to get this country back in the black before we go giving money abroad
if we go down the pan then all those countries will have no help
