Why are we still sending millions in aid to countries who no longer need it whilst there is so much poverty & now desperate need for help in this country. Why is the rest of the 'developed' world not now sending us money as we try to cope with our 'tsunami' as we have done them? Why are so many millions spent on bird sanctuaries whilst the hard working people in these regions are treated like this? These poor peoples lives are ruined & the politicians strut about on 'visits'& promise unlimited funds to ......Yeah right. Wow!!! see that flock of pigs fly by ??

Government should get its priorities changed to redirect foreign aid to support its own citizens

Money sent abroad is money lost.

My feelings are very strong on this particular debate, we seriously need to divert some of this aid money to help these poor people affected by these dreadful floods. They have lost everything and need help in rebuilding there lives.

I am concerned that we no longer live in a democracy as our politicians ignore the people who voted for them!

Why are we sending money abroad to be wasted when we need it here.Just to make politicians feel good?

The government need to do more! We need the money in this our country, and nowhere else. Get the rivers dredged, like they used to do many years ago.We are so behind other countries, who have more water round them, than we do.British people should not have to suffer this!

Homes owners and businesses who are flooded out and have been since Christmas deserve to be helped before money is given to the EU for wasting on deciding who is to have a very small part of our money. The rest being wasted by the EU.

We provide more foreign aid, per capita of population in the U.K., than any other country and yet we are asked to make sacrifices on our own health and safety during this flood crisis due to budget cuts and "ongoing efforts to recover the economy". Let's get our own house in shape before trying to shore up foreign jerry buildings.

So pleased that someone has set this up we have been saying when will there be an appeal for our own people instead of the ones that we are asked to donate to other countries.
Where can we send a donation and replacement furniture and home comforts.

I think that our goverment has a responsibilty to look after it's own people in times of crisis and this type of emergancy - we can help other when funds are available

We look like a 3rd world country, so let's get financial aid from the E.U money box !

One can only hope that the publics views are listened to for a change - that should be the case but guess what the goverment will probably talk talk and then find a reason to give the money away.

Too much money is spent on so many countries that are richer than us, does all the government want us to go bankrupt or are they to ignorant to think about it

Nothing changes, as usual the government
looks after the people from other countries before it looks after its own, we have come to expect this from them but are truly sick to the back teeth of it

Charity begins at HOME, not abroad we need coastal defences ,and return to rivers being dredged and not left to silt up.
