Why would you even want to cancel the punk show? It's THE best thing about Radio 1 and has got me through many a dull nightshift at work. Boooo to Radio 1 for thinking this =(

So many bands I wouldn't've even heard of if it weren't for this show.

As someone who has played in bands for years I can tell you that shows like this help hard working, talented and deserving bands get their music out to a lot of people. Subcultures are dying out and we need to keep them as strong as possible

I've been listening to this show for years. Although it's labeled "The Punk Show" it's probably the most interesting and diverse show I've heard on Radio 1, playing everything from folk, reggae, hardcore, mariachi to country. It has got me into so much new music during it's duration and probably contributed to about 3/4 of the gigs I've attended.

It's also the only show I've heard on radio 1 that has it's focus set on music too. Other shows seem to be obsessed with getting social media attention or user interaction. 6 music has enough middle aged mundane chat to make me turn it off at times. But not the punk show the balance is perfect.

The end of this show will be the end of me listening religiously weekly (even if it be on inlayer due to the time) to any BBC radio program.

I think if the people making these decisions actually listened to this show for a few weeks before the decision was made it wouldn't be going anywhere.

Probably one of the best radio shows ever! Radio 1 is apparently the home of new music, well new music is new music whatever the genre!

What's not to love about punk? Punk means musical freedom, genuine passion and the creative will to challenge corruption. #OneLove

We have to listen to the mass produced drivel & dance & hip hop all day every day nowadays on Radio 1. The punk show shines like a beacon of light in a sea of dross & it would be a crime against music if it were axed!

I am shocked that the BBC is planning on killing of a show which has allowed me find so many new bands. The BBC has moved further and further into the world of Pop.

I've just found out on the latest show. Im gutted.

I listen live or stream the show every week.

For a decade the punk show has provided a great platform to new bands, especially UK bands, whilst educating people about the history of the genre in a leveled way. Mike Davies has provided the finest radio show within the genre in the world, with amazing sessions and engaging interviews. Please don't axe this amazing show...

I have always loved the Radio One Punk Rock Show. Its a really good thing for alternative music and it would be a terrible shame to have it taken away from us.
