After smoking tobacco cigarettes for over 30 years VAPING is the only way I've been able to quit smoking 100%. To punish all with the few who do NOT READ the warning about "Leaving out of reach of children and pets". IS PLAIN STUPID. There's more correct information from the Scientific studies being done. I don't see sales of nicotine GUM, Lozenges etc being BANNED, yet they hold MORE of a threat! PLEASE educate before prohibiting!

Was the reason I was able to quit smoking after 20 years. The only store I will buy from makes their own juice and only use the best of ingredients USB Kosher Veg Glycerin, all natural flavoring and nicotine. They are also very concerned with children getting hands on. That is also why they come with child proof tops just like medication. So if there was any other reason than BIG tobacco money being lost. Not worried about helping people. I went from 24mg of nicotine down to just 6mg in 6 months. So basically you are saying that you want more people, inhaling nearly 4,000 harmful chemicals that are in cigarette smoke. Instead?????????? DUMB!!!!!!

I am no longer a smoker! After 20+ years of 2 1/2 packs a day. I had tried everything , going cold turkey, the patch, gum, hypnosis, & lozenges.
Nothing worked until I found vaping. I have been tobacco free for over 2 years now. I feel much better. I can breathe. I have my sense of smell back.
I haven't been to a doctor for any upper respiratory infections since I began vaping.
I truly believe that vaping has saved not only my life but all those around.
I feel that every adult should have the same chance at life as I do because of vaping.
Thank You

We need to contact every Senator, Congress member and every Council in the State of New York. We need to show up and prove our numbers. We need to demand our rights in an orderly fashion. We must act. Petitions are very nice, but more is needed. We won't be Shamed, Blamed and Taxed to death!

To Whom It May Concern,

As a New York State and Onondaga County resident,I strongly oppose bill S6939-2013 or any other bill that would ban or apply sin taxes on e-liquid sales, here in New York State. I also oppose any bill that restricts vaping in public places.

A former smoker of thirty years, I'm no longer inhaling tar or countless toxic chemicals into my body. After several failed attempts at quitting smoking using traditional methods, vaping has saved my life.

Why isn't the state focused on banning cigarettes? They're the real killers here, not e-liquid.

Numerous people have committed suicide as a direct result from taking Chantex. Also, why is it accceptable for New York state to provide nicotine patches and gum as quitting tools for smokers but vaping nicotine e-liquid, is not.

I must also note that not all e-liquid contains nicotine.

It's unsettling to me that New York state is suggesting what I'm doing now, is more harmful than smoking real cigarettes.

The information outlined in the s6939 bill is outdated, incorrect and frankly, disturbing.

In conclusion, I will be contacting my local representives, requesting they vote no on these bills.

Sincerely,
Anne Sojewicz

From a Philippe Presles all the way from France, because this is not only a New York issue, it is a global issue that effects 100's of Millions of people's rights to choice a 99% safer alternative to smoking...

"Drugs are far more dangerous
The number of deaths rose to 1,995 cases, including 18 cases of children (thankfully only 1%). Drugs are by far the leading cause of death and here the winners for the three most dangerous categories.
Analgesics:
- Paracetamol: 276 dead (including 159 by paracetamol-codeine)
- Morphine and Fentalyl: 158
- Methadone: 134 dead
- Tébaïne: 120 deaths
- Aspirin: 39 dead
- Tramadol: 24 dead
Psycho-active drugs:
- Antidepressants: 148 dead (including 17 with bupropion, used especially for smoking cessation)
- Anxiolytics: 111 dead
Cardiovascular drugs: 128 dead
About 18 deaths of children, the substances involved were analgesics in 11 cases, 6 cases of amphetamines, drugs against colds in 5 cases, and household products in 4 cases, taking several substances are possible) .
In view of these figures, we can only regret that no drug is delivered in packages of security. The most powerful painkillers, antidepressants, anxiolytics and the most dangerous cardiovascular products in free circulation since decades and kill thousands of people by accident without many people do in émeuve."

The people know the facts, the people elect representatives that say they know something, well I think they are missing the boat in the most egregious manner.

Thanks to E-cigs, I have been cigarette free for 5 months and going strong. It is absolutely disgusting to think that govt would try to take that away from us.

All this bill is about is money. vaping works and they are losing money from tobacco tax. It seems funny that the states with the highest tobacco taxes are trying to ban ecigs. it makes me sick that they say they are worried about our health.

If this bill passes, I hope bleach, windex, boat cleaner, cough syrup, and all other liquids that are also toxic to drink in mass quantity are banned after. I'm tired of making sure my daughter doesn't drink them too.

I have been a lifelong resident of New York and a smoker for 22 years. After numerous attempts at quitting, (i.e. Nicorette gum, zyban, hypnosis and acupuncture) I finally had success with an e –cigarette. I now have been tobacco free for over a year. Let it be clear that any bill that restricts or bans what is helping many people quit smoking will be met with fierce opposition from not only the vaping community but their families as well. With millions of users across the United States and hundreds of thousand right here in New York, rest assured that opposition to your bill will reflect itself at the ballot box.
The majority of the vaping community is of a generation unlike ours of yesterday. These are men and women who do not just follow the leader and believe what is written in the printed journals of America’s largest corporations. Today’s generation questions government’s motivations and makes an educated decision on all things that may affect their health. The yester years of Government and corporate controlled media have lost credibility.
In ending, I suggest that the New York State government fall back on the issue of electronic cigarettes and e-juice and concentrate on putting New York back into the fiscal stability it once enjoyed.
