I think it a nonsens for our P.M. to borrow money to give it away in overseas aid this practice should stop now.

We help flood victims abroad--We are victims of the flood water. We should divert money going abroad to us in the UK.

It is disgraceful that OUR Money goes overseas when WE ALLOW IT. Charity begins at home, and it is our money anyway! Why won't David Cameron listen to what people say. He will pay at the next election..

i think that all foreign aid should be given to the victims. we are always the first to come forward with aid to other countries. No one helps us

Government ministers should be aware we pa our taxes for the benefit of the British Isles. If we have spare cash we can then feed the world. What a sorry collection of idiots we have running this country.

The picture of Nick Clegg in the Daily Mail Shows how stupid he looks, what has he got to smile about. It just shows what a waste of space he is.

we must start to look after our own country better in times of disaster.

I am incandescent with rage at the inefficiency of this Government. Cameron has reacted at last but it is too little too late for those who have suffered terrible loss of homes, farms, businesses etc. I wholeheartedly agree that foreign aid should only be used where it is desperately needed and not on useless windfarms in Africa or giving cattle in South America better feed to prevent excessive methane gas escaping into the atmosphere!! I have completely lost faith in this Government - have they never heard of the saying CHARITY BEGINS AT HOME!

aid to places like China and India is ludicrous and must be stopped and the money used to help our own flood victims.CHARITY BEGINS AT HOME

This country is an island we should be following the Dutch and protecting our citizens and the invironment and not sending monies overseas to countries which are out performing ours.

There doesn't appear to be any type of aid coming from the EU, was a comment I heard the other day.
No surprise there then. Once again we're on our own, yet as a nation, we are expected to give vast amounts in aid to other countries. This has got to stop.

Whilst I agree that we should help other nations less rich and successful as we are the present crisis needs massive investment to prevent, as much as we can, a recurrence. We are likely to have these problems for many years to come and now is the time to act- as Holland did after their disasters of 1953. Divert some of the aid money - £1 billion - now to start the process of repair and invest in schemes to prevent future flooding as and how we can. Afterwards, re-instate the aid programme.
