I fully support your petition and wish you well with its aims and objectives. I needed referral earlier this year to a specialist for an urgent op, but refused referral to Kirkcaldy on principal, because I fully support QMH. The op went ahead five weeks ago at QMH, unfortunately there followed complications and I needed urgent treatment from a doctor who happened to be based at the Victoria Hospital A&E. I wasn't feeling at all well, plus the taxi-ride to the Victoria, Kirkcaldy costing £38 shocked me and made me all the more angry that patients and families in West Fife are being placed in this situation through no fault of their own! A very kind neighbour collected me from the Victoria Hospital four hours later. It just highlighted the long journey from West Fife to the A&E at Kirkcaldy. I really feel for those others - Pensioners, families with children who have to make this same journey and believe that moving the A&E to the Victoria could cost lives! I read John Wilson's response in the Dunfermline Press to your campaign this week inviting you to meet with him. I wasn't impressed by what he had to say and wondered if indeed he or the health board even listened to those 20,000 + petitioners! May the response grow bigger...

It is a real shame that we have a beautiful purpose built hospital that has been decommissioned .
Also the time time to get to Kirkcaldy in a dire emergency seems crazy
How many people have to suffer before the powers that be listen!

It is vital to have A+E services in the city of Dunfermline. A city that has a population that is the size if not bigger than Kirkcaldy it does not make sense having one A+E for the entire Kingdom or at the very least 75% of the population in the Kingdom.
I suffer from various illness/disabilities and having A+E QMH a couple of miles away I could get there no probs, now if I need A+E I would have to call for an ambulance seeing the Vic is about 15miles away. Instead of spending all of that money at QMH on the new stupid one way system, that could have been spent on the A+E department to keep it there.

There needs to be an a&è in dunfermline. My daughter recently scalded herself and when I got to queen Margaret hosp all they could do was cover her up and send us to the vic. They had no strong pain relief for her baring in mind she was only 11 months. They were more.concerned about getting her signed in than treating her. We did end up in.edinburgh but I feel had there been quicker treatment available at the hospital I live 5 mins from my daughter would have been less stressed and traumatised

If you have a heart attack in west fife at any time you are dead before you get to the victoria hospital in kirkcaldy which is approx 12 miles away
