He is a wild animal, if someone gets too close and he is on the hunt then he will kill them. Its unfortunate but he shouldn't be put down for his natural instincts

I don't believe that he attacked her on purpose. That like they said it's breeding season and he was just doing what is natural to him and unfortunately it was a tragic event. I also believe the keeper if still with us would not want him to be put down for being and acting like a tiger which is exactly what he is.

I believe this is not the animals fault humans have caused this to hapen by keeping them in cages thses magestic animals belong in the wild & not in cages

The onus is on the keeper to stay out of reach. Not the animal's fault, just human negligence.

Common sense must prevail. We should not punish an animal for its natural predator instincts

Condolences to the keeper, her family & friends.
However I don't feel Oz should lose his life because of his natural instinct.

This is not the fault of the Tiger, it is the fault of man. You cant punish him for being a tiger. You must let him live.

this is why wild animals shud never be caged. its very sad that the keeper lost her life but to put the tiger down is wrong and im sure the keeper wouldnt want that happen eaither. punishing animals is never ok.

There has to be a human element involved in this. These tigers should be a STRICTLY HANDS OFF they were not! To have this tiger put down because of human error, since there are so few of them makes me wonder who keeps these zoos in check. This is not the Tigers fault he had shown previously behaviour that he was stressed .... This alone should have alerted the handlers not all was well... Did complacently play a part in this tragic accident... it is the zoo,s responsibility to protect them at all costs and keep the staff safe.My thoughts go out to the staff and family of the woman who lost her life, this is an accident that could be advoided, but DEFINATELY NOT THE TIGERS FAULT, he should not have to pay the penalty

They are natural predators and us prey... we have to remember that even if we have trapped them in cages x

Sending love to the family. I'm sure the zoo keeper wouldn't want the tiger to be put to sleep.
They are not pets they are wild animals and not many left.

Tigers are meant to live in the wild and its there instinct to hunt and eat in there wild life. So please dont kill wats meant to be wild and its closed in the cage tiger have no fault for doing wat they are born to do

The tiger is endangered and belongs in Sumatra in its natural habitat. Sumatran tigers are extremely rare and may become extinct. I think it should stay alive, it was just doing what tigers do in the wild.

He was only going by his natural instinct! If you want to control and capture a wild animal, you should know the bloody risks. Dont act like its the tigers fault you were in its habitat and being a possible risk. Stop being idiots and own up to your mistakes, the zoo shouldn't of put that lady at risk! Its not the god damn tigers fault!

My deepest sympathies for the family of zookeeper who lost her life. So tragic. But please don't take the life of the tiger as well. Two wrongs do not make a right. The tiger is a wild animal kept in a cage, which is wrong in itself, so don't blame it for being what it is or for being territorial in the only space it has left. If there is any fault, it is with the safety procedures of the zoo and zoo management.

How many tigers have humans killed? How many have humans taken from the wild and thrown into zoos? Tigers are wild animals, we cant punish them for acting like it ....

A tiger shouldn't be killed because of its own instincts
